Mansfield, Ohio

LEXINGTON: Gerald Eldon “Jerry” Morehead went to be with the Lord Friday morning, December 14, 2018 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was 78.

He was born to parents Howard & Iva (Au) Morehead. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1959. He was on the Lexington High School basketball team and enjoyed playing baseball, running track and boxing in younger years too.

He is survived by his wife Jan Morehead; sons David Morehead and Tom Morehead; step-son Troy (Lynn) Ernsberger; grandchildren Logan, Bobbie, Kassi, Bryce and Brendan; great-grandsons Conner and Carter; brother Elmer (Millie) Morehead; sister Evelyn (Darrel) Wilcox.

Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife June Morehead; his parents and sister Barb Mangan.

The Morehead family will receive friends Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Jerry’s life will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10 a.m. Pastor Tony Viscioni will speak. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
