Genevieve M. “Ginger” Gallogly, age 84 of Delaware died early Sunday morning, January 27, 2008 at Delaware Court Care Center.

She was born in Marion on July 13, 1923 to the late Clyde E. and Winona (Aldrich) Davis. A waitress at the former Central Restaurant in Delaware; where she met her husband of 65 years Clyde E. Gallogly. They were married July 19, 1942 in the parsonage of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead. Following their marriage, Clyde left for boot camp. During WW II Ginger lived the unsettling life of concern and worry as an Army wife, until he returned stateside following the war. Together they shared a wonderful life.

A resident of Delaware since 1952, she retired from the Nippert Company, where she worked as an assembler and machine operator. Ginger also worked as an associate with the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware from 1987 until 2004. She was a member of Sunbury Christian Church and a lifetime member of the 12th Armored Division Association. She enjoyed a good hand of euchre with card club friends, shopping, solving word search puzzles, collecting dolls and angels. Friendly, yet quiet in nature, she will be remembered for her kind and gentle qualities.

In addition to her husband and his extended family, she is survived by a host of friends both from church and in the Delaware and Sunbury areas, as well as adopted grandchildren Ridge and Sophi Snyder of Delaware, and a great niece Laura Andrews of Ostrander.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware where services will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mike Bratten officiating, interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
