Genevieve G. Schnegelsberger

Genevieve G. “Gennie” Schnegelsberger, 85, of Galion, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital after suffering a broken hip three weeks ago.
Born Apr. 6, 1923 in Leesville, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Paul Long and Marian Lowe Long Funk Burgin. She was preceded in death on July 21, 1978 by her husband, Wilbur Ellsworth Schnegelsberger, whom she married on Apr. 5, 1953.
She was a graduate of Leesville High School in 1941 and attended Mansfield Business School.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ and Bethany Circle, Galion Community Hospital Auxiliary TWIG 9, Bucyrus Chapter 3 Order of Eastern Star and was a long tome member of the former Naomi Chapter 47 Order of Eastern Star. Gennie retired from Gledhill Road Machinery where she was a bookkeeper. She has worked at the Shelby Depot, Burch Corp. in Crestline and Shelby Mutual Insurance Co.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Parsons of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Michael Angel Cunningham and Melissa Cunningham, both of Belpre; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Madison, Hayley, and Shianna and her close friend, Virginia Rensch of Galion.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Paul Schnegelsberger and one brother, Ralph Long.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2008 at First United Church of Christ with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July, 17, 2008 during calling hours at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home.
