  • Gene was an amazing guy he set a high standard and great examples for us all. He and Ollie were very giving and selfless, especially when it came to family and the grandchildren. They were always there to lend a helping hand, give advice and provide guidance through the years.
One of the traditions a set was handing out holiday cash during Thanksgiving celebrations that allowed the next generation the financial wherewithal to provide a more substantial Christmas holiday to their loved ones and children. Wonderful, God loving people brightens everyone’s lives around them.
    We will miss you Gene!

  • Gene was pleasure to work with at Kells and was a gentle and wonderful guy. So sorry for your loss and my prayers go out to you both.

  • I shall always remember Gene as a loving husband to his precious wife Ollie, a tender father to his exhubrant daughters, a smiling grandfather to his fun-loving grandchildren, and a delightful man to talk to about our shared passions in education! I am honored to be part of the “in-laws” who will always remember the grace of his countenance, the spontaneous hospitality of his charm, and the understated wisdom in his intellect! While Gene and Ollie join other family members in Heaven, I know they are smiling upon us in anticipation of our arrival as we continue to live productive and selfless lives!

  • Truly enjoyed the gentle spirit of Gene and his commitment to providing a nurturing experience for students. Always displayed a good sense of humor to colleagues and friends. Rest in peace Gene, you will always be remembered as a good man.

  • It saddens me we lost such a remarkable man here on earth but I couldn’t be filled with more joy thinking of his reunion with grandma. I know he was also ecstatic to hold his great granddaughter, as he promised “I will take really good care of her”.

I will miss you tremendously Papa but believe you are more present in my life than ever before. Thank you for the example you set, the lessons you taught and for making my accomplishments that much more worth the time and effort.
I will be watching and listening for you. Please help me keep my baby safe.
    I love you tons!
