Gary L. Sharp, age 64, of Fredericktown, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, died Sunday July 26, 2015 at Ohio Health MedCentral in Mansfield surrounded by his family. Gary was born January 16, 1951 in Knox County, graduated from Fredericktown High School and had spent his lifetime in the Fredericktown area. He had been employed for 31 years at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center and four years at Walmart as a greeter. Gary loved to bowl, hunt and fish, was an avid fan of The Ohio State University football program, the Cleveland Browns and Indians, but Gary’s passion in life was his wife and family. He cherished the times he could spend with the family.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years Mary Kay (Shaffer) Sharp, sons James “JC” (Stacy) Sharp and Jonathan (Stephanie) Sharp, his daughter Jennifer (Dan) Selby; his grandchildren Alex, Megan, Gage, Junior, Jeffery, Savanna, Mason and Dessie; his mother Joan Sharp, his brother Mick (Renee) Sharp and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father Stanley Sharp and a granddaughter Michelle Butler.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 East College Street, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019, where funeral services will be Thursday at 10 AM with Pastor David Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
