BUTLER: Gary George Green passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was 85.

Born February 19, 1935 in Limestone, ME, to Robert B. and Anna Pearl (Acheson) Green, and served with the US Army as an operating engineer in Korea.

Gary worked 38 years in construction work.

He attended God’s Anointed Altar in Cardington, enjoyed playing cards and was focused on any event that revolved around his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Ann Green; their children Sheila (Clark) Swank, Peggy (Randy) Swank. Kathy Phipps; Nancy (Darell) Sanson; a daughter-in-law Tonya Green; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren with one on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Gary Robert Green in June of 2016 and son-in-law Jerry Phipps in February of 2000.

Although no public services will be held in Gary’s memory, the family hopes that you will remember him in your own special way.

If there is anything you need let me know and I will see what we can do. This has been a long hard year let us make it through the rest of the year safely. I can remember spending a lot time with Gary Robert watching Gary work in cars and asking a million questions. Memories I’ll always cherish.
