Mrs. Garnet Virginia Dewey (Coykendall), age 96, passed away on June18, 2009.

She was born on April 13, 1913 in Kenova, West Virginia to Luther and Louise (Ferguson) Davis.

In 1935 she married Harold C. Dewey and in 1957 she married Elmer Coykendall. They are both deceased.

She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio with a Registered Nurse degree. A career of over 50 years followed until her retirement. She worked the last 15 years of her nursing career at the Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead, Ohio.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three children William (Diane) Dewey of Olympia, Washington, Virginia (Wayne) Potes of Mount Vernon, and Dorothy (Robert) Ramsier of Mount Gilead; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and two husbands she was preceded in death by four brothers George, Kenneth, Gorman, and Ted Davis; and three sisters Margie Willis, Opal Tweed, and Dorothy Clark.

Friends may call on the family on Monday June 22, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead. A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi, Ohio at a later date.
