Gail Patrick Lloyd

March 17, 1947 ‒ December 20, 2019

Marengo, Ohio

Gail Patrick Lloyd, 72, born March 17, 1947, passed at home with his loving family by his side on December 20th, 2019.

A proud lifetime resident of Morrow County, he served 12 years as South Bloomfield Township trustee and worked as a well-respected operator for the Shelly Company for 41 years.

Preceded in death by parents, Herman Stanley and Helen Pauline (Bishop) Lloyd; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley R. and Mary L. Lloyd; brother-in-law, Richard Swank.  Gail is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Laura Anne; two children, Robby P. Lloyd (Dawn), and Robin H. Santo; 2 sisters, Bonnie J. Swank of Marengo and Barbara L. White of Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Michael P. Lloyd (Samantha), Brady L. Young, Kaitlyn J. Goodman (Gaige), Bailey Gail Santo, and Andrew B.K. Santo; 1 great-grandchild, Cooper P. Lloyd.

A true animal whisperer, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, talented gardener and taxidermist.  Gail was quite possibly the most humble, genuine, kind-hearted, family man, in every sense of the word. His “Gail-ism’s” always kept the mood light and put smiles on faces, such as how he ever-so-slightly mis-pronounced names, filled his shirt pockets with ashes, and how he referred to rain as “little drops of rest”. Most knew him simply as Gail, but to his family, “Papa Angel” is now much more than a cute nickname, but rather a very fitting and accurate representation of how he’ll forever be remembered by his kids and grandchildren.

Graveside Service 2 PM Monday, December 23, 2019 at Bloomfield Cemetery, officiated by Mr. Frank Darst.

Contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd #3, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 in Gail’s memory.  The DeVore Snyder Funeral Home is proud to serve the Lloyd family.
