Fredrick A. Chapman, 69, of 7423 Crawford-Morrow Co. Line Road, Galion, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, Columbus, after a one year illness.

Born August 17, 1935 in Richwood, he was the son of the late Lee Chapman and Ruth Mason Chapman. He married Susie Brown Jones Chapman on October 2, 2004 who survives.

He worked at General Motors Mansfield/Ontario Plant for 41 years where he was a tool and die maker. He was a member of Galion Moose Lodge 303 and the National Rifle Association. He loved going to auctions and rodeos, playing guitars and being with his grandchildren and great grandson.

Surviving are his two sons, Stewart Chapman of Grayson, Ky. and Tony Chapman of Mansfield; a step daughter, Lora Teggart of Galion; three grandchildren, Katy Bowman, Jason Chapman and Maxwell Chapman; one step grandson, Liam Teggart; one great grandson, Collin Bowman and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sara and Neil Wright of Edison and Beverly Davis of Marion.

He was previously married to Lela Atkinson Chapman who preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, with Pastor Danny Akers officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
