Frank M. Amato, 81, of Delaware passed away on Monday evening March 29, 2010 at Riverside Hospital.

He was born on April 13, 1928 in Marion to the Late Joseph and Lottie (Hildreth) Amato.

Frank was a sergeant in the army serving in the Korean Conflict, 1950-1952. A retired tool and die maker for Ranco retiring in 1991. A member of St Mary Catholic Church, FOE #76 and a life member of Amvets #102.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy “Dottie” (Runge) Amato and they were married April 20, 1953; daughter: Debbie Youngblood of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sons: Mike and his friend Kerri of Russells Point, Mick (Beth) of Delaware, Dan (Trina) of Ostrander; treasured grandchildren; Nicole Fleming, Ft. Lauderdale, Ryan Youngblood, San Diego, CA, Michael Amato of Virginia Beach, VA., Sara and Lucas Amato of St. Mary’s, Hollie and Chelsea Amato of Delaware, Amanda Amato of Ostrander; great grandson: Noah Fleming, Ft. Lauderdale, FL sister: Virginia Davis; brother: Larry Amato and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by brothers: Albert, Carmel, brother-in-law: Frank Davis; sisters-in-law: Marialyce Amato, Ruth Amato.

Frank enjoyed family and friends, especially his grandchildren and his beloved dachshund, Ginger.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware, where services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. with Fr. James Black officiating. Interment will follow in the St Mary Cemetery with military honors.
