Frank L. Beam, 60, formerly of Chicago and a resident of Key Biscayne, Florida, a retired advertising executive and television broadcast station owner, died at his home on Friday December 6, 2002 in Key Biscayne.

Mr. Beam was a graduate of Northwestern University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and attended Culver Summer Schools where he later served as a President of the Culver Summer School Alumni Association.

His long-time interest in boating led to memberships in the Chicago Yacht Club and the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, often known for giving a helping hand, said his brother, John.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother James A. and Margaret “Peg” (Rudin) Beam of Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Recognized for his friendly, helpful style, he was always looking for a communication idea that would equal the satisfaction he enjoyed during the television broadcast years.

He and his wife, Lynn, were divorced in the late 1990’s.

Surviving Mr. Beam is his brother, John.

A memorial service is being planned in Key Biscayne.

The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is assisting the family with arrangements.
