Frances B. Bartlett, 80, of Co. Rd. 30, Mount Gilead, died Wednesday, January 14, in Morrow County Hospital.
She was born in Honeoye, NY on September 19, 1923, the daughter of the late Samuel Boyd and Elizabeth Hannant. She graduated from Honeoye High School, Honeoye, NY in 1940 afterwards going to work for Eastman Kodak and Rochester Telephone Co. in Rochester, NY for several years. She dedicated the majority of her life to her family as a homemaker. She moved to Mount Gilead in 1972 coming from NY. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and professional sports. She was past president of American Legion Auxiliary #1278.
She is survived by her loving husband, John M Bartlett, whom she married May 18, 1946; a son and family, Jim and Lori Bartlett, with children Jenna and Sydney all of Mount Gilead; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret E. and John Carstensen of San Juan Capistrano, CA with Margaret’s children Chris and Julie of Houston, TX; Linda M. and Chris Kelley with children Jordan and Matthew, all of Marion, John’s Children, Andy, John Jr. and Tina Kroeger all of Atlanta, GA, and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son; John S. Bartlett, and a son-in-law, Jay E. Josephson.
Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Friday 2 to 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held there at 11:00am on Saturday with Pastor Dennis Braun officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery, Mount Gilead. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice.
