MANSFIELD: Florence M. Yeager, 96, formerly of Elmridge Road, Mansfield, died Wednesday afternoon September 5, 2007 in Country Meadow Care Center following a long illness.

She was born July 27, 1911 in Owosso, Mich, to George A. and Christine Ann (Trumbel) Sutter, and was graduated from Owosso High School in 1929.

She came to Mansfield in 1968 via Lima, where she worked in a pre-school and taught in a YMCA.

Content in her role as a homemaker, Mrs. Yeager enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and had a habit of getting caught doing good deeds while serving others.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mansfield.

She is survived by her son-in-law Stephen L. Velker of Goldsboro, North Carolina; grandchildren whom she cherished Katherine Yeager Dunn of Raleigh, NC and Daniel Joseph Yeager of Toledo and a loving friend Carol Loveless of Mansfield.

Her husband of 65 years Joseph Raymond Yeager, preceded her in death on March 23, 2004. Also deceased are her son and daughter-in-law Dr. John C. Yeager and Elizabeth Yeager Velker; and a sister Lucille Hinchey.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 10, 2007 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home from 9 AM until time for the 10 AM graveside funeral service in Mansfield Memorial Park. The Rev. Dennis R. Allison will officiate.
