F. Newton Dalrymple, 93, of Avon, Indiana, died October 6, 2004 in the Indianapolis Methodist Hospital.
He was born in Edison, Ohio on August 07, 1911 the son of the late John Miller and Maggie (Fisher) Dalrymple. He graduated from Edison High School in 1930. He operated a family farm and also worked at H.P.M. Corporation in Mount Gilead, Ohio. He was a member of the Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church of Chesterville, Ohio and the First United Methodist Church of Hamilton, Ohio. He resided in Morrow County and Hamilton prior to moving to Avon.
He is survived by his wife Helen (Kemp) Dalrymple, whom he married June 19, 1977; a son Tom (Carolyn) Dalrymple of Duncanville, Texas; a daughter Gloria Jean (Gary) Bachman of Taylorsville, NC; two step-sons Ron (Pat) Ireland of Indianapolis, Indiana and Don (Linda) Ireland of Avon, Indiana; five grandchildren Susan, Matthew, Laura, Jim and Brian; two great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
His first wife Edith (Sulser) Dalrymple, whom he married Jan. 6, 1940, preceded him in death on September 29, 1974. A daughter Judy Dalrymple, an infant son Andrew, and three brothers Allen, Johnny, and Harvey Dalrymple also preceded him in death.
Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead, Ohio with Pastor Mary Lou Gompf officiating. Friends may call one-hour prior to the service.
