Eveline Frye, age 85, of Pipesville Road, Gambier, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 14, 1928 in Calhoun County, West Virginia to the late Walter and Mary (Givens) Burrows. Eveline retired from the food service department at Kenyon College after 17 years of employment. She enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie, a good game of euchre, visiting nursing homes and providing in home health care for the elderly. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family, singing and playing the guitar. Eveline will be forever remembered as a mother to us all.
She is survived by her children, Roger Frye of Howard, James Frye of Mount Vernon, Carl (Susan) Frye of Newark and Daniel (Kim) Frye of Raleigh, North Carolina, nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, a great-great grandson and three brothers.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Frye, whom she married on August 24, 1946, a great grandson, Damon Springer, a brother and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
