Ethel Alice (Shoffner) Ferriman, of 472 Jefferson Street, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:05 am at Marion General Hospital.

Ethel was born on May 22, 1937 to the late Nettie Mae Curlonis and Ernest Shoffner Sr. in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Ethel was a very kind and caring person who always put others ahead of herself. Not only was she kind to other people, but she was also kind to animals. She was always taking care of and feeding any stray animals that came around.

After her kids were raised, she went to work. She worked at General Sales for over 20 years until she retired.

Ethel was a good wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her husband, James Ferriman; her sons: Michel Ferriman, Scott (Ronda) Ferriman and Mark (Mary Lou) Ferriman; her daughters: Mary (Timothy) Severance and Sherry (Robert) Mattix; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Faulkner and Janice Saunders; a bother, Ernest Shoffner Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and Tina Sanders whom held a special place in Ethel’s heart.

Ethel was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Mae Curlonis; father, Ernest Shoffner Sr.; second mother, Ruth Nadiene Shoffner; sisters: Ernestine Briggs, Mary Lou Holt, and Dora Fletcher; and a brother, James Shoffner.

Friends and family may call at the Snyder Funeral Home, Denzer Chapel (360 E. Center St.) on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Funeral services for Ethel will be held there on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Bill Middleton officiating the service. Ethel will be laid to rest at Marion Cemetery after the service.

Pallbearers will be Michel Ferriman, Scott Ferriman, Mark Ferriman, Nik Ferriman, Matt Severance, and J.J. Oney.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Ethel’s memory to Snyder Funeral Homes to assist with expenses.
