Ellen Faye Mullen, 95, of Delaware passed away early Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 13, 1923 in Derry, Pennsylvania to the late William and Mary (Myers) Wadsworth. Doing whatever she could to support the troops and the war effort, she assembled grenades during World War II. On September 23, 1946, she married Paul Edward Mullen in the St. Vincent Arch Abbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Sadly, Paul passed away on June 13, 2016.

Ellen was a former member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. More recently, she was a devoted and faithful member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware. She enjoyed knitting, camping, hiking, and taking walks and she especially loved to dance. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Marcia Mullen and Janet (Mike) Conroy of Delaware; grandchildren, Christopher (Sara) Conroy of Columbus, Laura (Jeff) Olson of Delaware and Daniel (Taylor) Conroy of Columbus; great grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick and Ellen Conroy; sister-in-law, Jane Johnston of Latrobe, PA; brother-in-law, Chuck Mullen of Latrobe, PA; and her faithful canine companion, Obie.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband Paul, Ellen was preceded in death by her sisters Eleanor Lear and Mildred Frayvolt, her brother Glenn Wadsworth, sisters-in-law Mary, Virginia and Tess Mullen and her brother-in-law Jim Johnston.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 82 E. William Street, Delaware with Rev. Fr. Michael Watson officiating. The St. Mary Bereavement Committee will then host a luncheon in the Snyder-Rodman Community Room.

Contributions in Ellen’s memory may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or OhioHealth Hospice.
