Elaine R. “Peg” Hauprich, 91, of Mansfield passed away Friday evening, September 9, 2011 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.

Born September 12, 1919 in Chicago, Elaine was the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Lueck) Madsen. After graduating from high school she married Nicholas H. Hauprich on September 16, 1939. In the early 1940’s the two moved to Akron.

A caring wife and mother, Elaine’s focus was her family. Compassionate, Elaine also worked as a certified EEG Technician for Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1976. Theatre was always her passion, and Elaine was member of the Falls Masquers, a small theater group in the Akron area. A talented musician, Elaine enjoyed all kinds of music and played the organ and accordion.

From traveling to vacation destinations, taking day trips or just going on afternoon drives, Elaine loved being on the road in the driver’s seat. In her younger years she competed in bowling leagues.

Elaine is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Christie (Christopher) Carracher of Mansfield, Lynn (William) Carling of California, and Penny Etoll of Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Hauprich in 2005.

The family has selected the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home for funeral services. Burial will be held in Northlawn Cemetery in Peninsula.
