Edward P. Suchman, age 79, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016.

He was born on March 22, 1937 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Homer and Alma (Buchholz) Suchman. Edward was employed as a machinist at Capital Machine, Jeffrey Mining and Omegadyne from which he retired. He was a long time member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and taking long trips on his motorcycle. Edward was a member of the Concordia Lutheran MO, Synod Church in Columbus, Ohio. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, of over 59 years, Cara (Whitlock) Suchman; his son Edward (Renee) Suchman Jr.; his daughter Evelyn (Scott) Chalfant; four grandchildren, Dan (Sarah) Newkirk, Zack Newkirk, Kate (Colby) Randall, Max Chalfant; two great grandchildren, Kori Randall, Theo Newkirk; two brothers, Alfred (Alice) Suchman, Karl (Julie) Suchman; and two sisters, Donna Suchmann and Karen Suchman.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Suchman.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 4-7PM at the Christ the King Church (15598 McClelland Rd., Fredericktown, Ohio 43019). The service will be held on Friday, at the church, beginning at 11AM with Pastors Lucian Baker and Tim Overly officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
