Edward P. Piascik
LEXINGTON: Edward P. Piascik, 82, died Friday October 26, 2007 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born July 31, 1925 in Cleveland to Walter and Antonia (Zalewski) Piascik.
Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Following his military service, he attended Western Reserve University.
Edward worked as an accounting manager with GMAC, retiring in 1982 with 29 years of service.
Ed loved to travel and was proud to say he had visited the 48 contiguous states and Canada. He was also a fan of classical music, and enjoyed reading.
He is survived by his wife Joann C. (Michalski) Piascik , whom he married September 7, 1963, a daughter Jeanne M. Piascik of Orlando, Florida, a daughter and son-in-law Peggy A. and Kenneth Jordan of Lexington; two granddaughters Hope E. and Faith A. Jordan; two sisters Hattie Gray and Dorothy Ladika both of Parma Heights, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, eight brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 5-6:30 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a Vigil Service will begin at 6:30 pm. Visiting will continue Wednesday from 11 am to 12 pm in Resurrection Parish, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 pm, celebrated by The Rev. Father Nelson Beaver. Burial with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow in Prince of Peace Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to Resurrection Parish or the Ohio Veterans Home may be made at the funeral home as well as the church.
