Edna C. Fisher, age 87 of Sunbury died early Wednesday morning, November 5, 2003 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was born on February 11, 1916 near Honaker, Virginia to the late Ira R. and Sarrah E. (Compton) Thompson. Graduate of Berlin High School Class of 1935 and member of Rural Chapel United Methodist Church. Edna was a homemaker and farmers wife. She treasured her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church, home, and garden.

Survived by her loving husband of 64 years: Mark, Sons: Mark Wayne (Brenda) Fisher of Delaware, Max (Cindy) Fisher of St. Louis, MO, Grandchildren: Shelly, Sherry, Mark W. Jr., and Alex , Great-grandchildren: Mark W. III, Ryan, Andrew, Jacob, Uncle: Stan Compton of Delaware, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by Brothers: Lester and Charles Thompson.

Friends may call Friday 4-7 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Rural Chapel United Methodist Church, 5860 Cheshire Rd., Galena, Rev. Russell Ham officiating. Interment will follow in Berkshire Cemetery.
