Edith J. McCammon

LEXINGTON: Edith J. McCammon, 71, of Lexington passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Edith was born November 21, 1941 in Sophie, West Virginia the daughter of Hobart and Beatrice (Murphy) Whited.
A devoted wife, she married David McCammon on July 31, 1959.
An excellent cook, Edith prepared traditional, southern style meals. Her family’s favorite recipe was Edith’s one of a kind biscuits and gravy. Edith also looked forward to each spring season which meant time spent tending to her flowers.
A school bus driver for Lexington Schools, Edith drove students to and from school for over 30 years.
Edith was also a biker. Riding her Harley Davidson Dresser, Edith rode with a sidecar. With wind in their faces and the roar of their Harley engine behind, Edith and David cruised across America on numerous trips. A member of the Motor Maids of America, Edith would ride in parades, but more importantly she enjoyed the many friendships forged from her membership.
She is survived by her loving husband David McCammon of Lexington; daughter Joan (Dave) Roth of Butler; sons Rod (Regina) McCammon, Chris (Dottie) McCammon, and Joe McCammon all of Lexington; grandchildren Rusty, Cory, Kayla, Casee, Ariana, Tyler, Brandon R., Crystall, Julie, Brandon M., Melissa, Amanda, Jesse, Andrea, and Emily; great granddaughter Maddie; sister Shirley (Ed) Shuler of Pembroke Pines, Florida, mother-in-law Betty McCammon of Lexington; brothers-in-law Don (Brenda) McCammon of Lexington and Ted (Mary Clare) McCammon of Cincinnati.
Along with her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her brother Sonny Whited, sister Sue Whited, father-in-law Bud McCammon and brother-in-law Terry McCammon.
A memorial gathering will be held, Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
