September 20, 1961 ‒ May 29, 2012
Ed Eccles’ heart controlled his inner most emotions. It allowed him to be forthright, dynamic and sometimes impulsive. His heart moved him to compassion on many occasions, and it helped him maintain levity when life’s circumstances turned dark.
Nearly as big as his smile, Ed’s heart was stilled, passing him to rest, Monday morning May 29, 2012. He was 50.
Born Edward Eccles on September 20, 1961 in Neptune, NJ to Al and Virginia (Morris) Eccles, he was graduated from Neptune High School in 1979.
A former corpsman with the U.S. Navy, he had worked in the clerk of courts office for the city of Mansfield, and as a bartender at Alternatives.
Ed could be stubborn, but had a great sense of humor and spent quite a bit of time on eBay and Facebook.
He is survived by his husband Steven Schultz of Mansfield, whom he married May 25, 2003; a son Christopher Schultz of Newark, DE; his father and stepmother Al and Karen Eccles of Neptune, NJ; brothers and sisters-in-law Steven & Donna Eccles of Seaside Park, NJ, Michael & Michelle Eccles of Ft.
