Eargle L. “Tex” Carriger, 78, of Galion, died Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2008 at Altercare of Bucyrus after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1929 in Jacksboro, Texas, he was the son of the late Virgil Carriger and Mae Evans Carriger. He married Cynthia M. Coffelt Carriger on March 31, 1953 and she survives.

He retired in 1991 from Galion Dresser where he was a machinist.

Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Joe Lott of Antlers, Okla. and Ivy and Sammy Sanchez of Lewisville, Texas; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Russell and Becky Carriger of Galion, Charles and Leslie Carriger of Galion, Joseph Carriger of Mansfield and Steven and Nichole Carriger of San Angelo, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jeannie Carriger of Archer City, Texas.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Tillman Carriger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Mar. 14, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 15, 2008 with Lois Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
