Dwight W. “Ike” Artus, age 71, of Mount Vernon, Ohio went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Centerburg Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on February 11, 1947 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Donald and Nora (Staack) Artus. Ike graduated from Dubuque Sr. High School in 1965.  After graduation, Ike joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War.  After the war, Ike was briefly married to Nancy Jordan of Davis, California and had one son Brien.  Ike lived most of his adult life in the area of Sacramento, California, retiring from Pacific Gas and Electric where he worked as a mechanic.  Ike enjoyed travel and collecting antiques.

He is survived by his son Brien (Nikki) Artus of Mount Vernon; and his grandson Kyle Artus.

In addition to his parents, Ike was preceded in death by his brothers Loren Artus and Wayne Artus.

In keeping with Ike’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a memorial service at Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa on Friday, August 3, 2018 beginning at 11AM.
