DUANE C. “STROKER” CHANDLER, 58, OF OSTRANDER DIED SUNDAY MORNING IN THE SICU UNIT AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER, COLUMBUS. HE WAS BORN APRIL 22, 1947 IN COLUMBUS TO CECIL D. AND LaNORA (nee FRASER) CHANDLER. HE HAD WORKED AT NESTLE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN MARYSVILLE FOR THE PAST 35 YEARS WHERE HE WAS A SENIOR LAB TECHNICIAN. A US NAVY VETERAN SERVING FROM 1966 – 1970, HE WAS A STUDENT OF THE LAST GRADUATING CLASS OF ST. MARY HIGH SCHOOL IN 1965, WAS A LIFE MEMBER OF THE AMVETS POST #102, DELAWARE, MEMBER OF THE DELAWARE EAGLES #376, CUB MASTER AND DISTRICT COMMISSIONER FOR THE DELAWARE DISTRICT BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, AND A MEMBER OF ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, DELAWARE. HE WAS A UNION COUNTY RESIDENT FOR 23 YEARS AND WAS AN AVID NASCAR, OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, AND COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS FAN. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 26 YEARS, DEBRA (nee CUNNINGHAM); 2 SONS, KEVIN (SUE) CHANDLER OF OSTRANDER AND KELLY CHANDLER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND ANGIE O’HARA OF DELAWARE; GRANDSON, PEYTON CHANDLER; 2 SISTERS, LAURA (JAMES) NEAL OF AKRON AND PATRICIA (VERNON) BUGG OF EAST LIBERTY; MOTHER, LaNORA CURRENT OF EAST LIBERTY; AUNT, JUANITA MARTIN OF HEBRON; NUMEROUS NIECES, NEPHEWS, COUSINS, AND A HOST OF FRIENDS; EXTENDED FAMILY, SANDY AND KEITH LEWIS AND JEAN AND DARREL LEWIS AND CHILDREN, ALL OF DELAWARE, ALL HIS FRIENDS FROM NESTLE R&D, AND PHYSICIANS PLUS. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A GRANDDAUGHTER HANNAH KAY CHANDLER, GRANDMOTHER AND STEPGRANDFATHER DORICE AND LOREN LUST, UNCLE GEORGE MARTIN, AND HIS IN- LAWS TOM AND JANE CUNNINGHAM. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS ON THURSDAY JANUARY 19 FROM 1 – 4 AND 6 – 9 PM AT THE RODMAN BENNETT BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 92 N. SANDUSKY ST., DELAWARE WHERE A VIGIL OF PRAYER SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT
4:00 PM. A MEMORIAL MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED ON FRIDAY JANUARY 20 AT 10:00 AM AT ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH THE REV. FR. KEVIN KAVANAGH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE AT A LATER DATE
