Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
What a wonderful legacy Doctor McCann leaves – not only in his contributions to our community, but in his love for his beautiful family.
We always enjoyed seeing them, especially in the years they were able to be in church on Sunday mornings, through the years.

May wonderful memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.

  • McCann Family,

Sorry to hear of Dr. Jim’s passing. It was always a joy to see him and your mom out in public. He always had a story to tell and your mom would just sit there and roll her eyes.
I will never forget the day your dad got his hole in one in front of Nancy Lopez to win the green Chevy Malibu. Couldn’t have happened to a better man. But of course he complained because he had to pay the taxes.

Cherish the memories and know he is in a better place.

  • Mary, McCann Kids, grands and greats,
May God bless you with great memories and comfort as you journey through this season of loss. I remember being in his office for stitches, and then he stopped by our house to check on me; think I was in 2nd grade. Later, as an LPN I have good memories of interacting with him at KCH. He was an excellent doctor, a good man, but more importantly he reared a wonderful family alongside Mary. He will be remembered!

  • Doc McCann-what great memories that name brings to mind. He was our Dr. for many years and we loved and trusted him as a Doctor and a friend. He always had a smile for us and a kind word. He leaves many good memories in this community and we are thankful to have had him for our physician and friend. Our sympathies go out to the family as you grieve for your loved one. He will be missed by so many here in this community.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you…I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Jim for years at the hospital and he cared for several family members. May God be with you all.

  • Mary and Family,
I am so sad to hear the news of Dr McCann’s passing. He was my favorite doctor of all times. He delivered 2 of my 3 children and had been my doctor since I was 12 years old. He was my children’s doctor for many years as well. I will always remember him smiling. Such a sweet soul. Many prayers and hugs to you all.

  • We are so sorry about Dr. Jim’s passing. He was a wonderful man, always with a smile and a gentle bedside manner. He took good care of our whole family, as did Dr Dave. We also had so much fun playing in the MadCap Memorial Golf Scramble with Jim (and Dick) as part of our team for many years. He had an infectious laugh! He will be greatly missed. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

  • So sorry for your loss. We started going to dr McCann when I was 11 years old and when he moved to Mount Vernon we went with him. He delivered Joyce and I three kids and took care of us until he retired. He was always so joyful and happy. He was the very best and I think dr David took after him . Prayers for your family

  • McCann Family,

So sorry to hear of Doc McCann’s passing. As many others have said, he was our doctor for many years. He was a caring, loving man with a huge smile. He passed those traits on to his children! Find comfort in your memories and the knowledge that he touched many lives in our community.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when my Dad came home and said “Dr McCann is our family doctor now “ I was mortified! I went to school with his kids and he was gonna see me naked?!?!?! Best decision my Dad ever made. Doc was such a good man, always had a smile and hug for me. Heaven just gained an Angel …love you, Kimmy

  • To the family & Dave: I enjoyed working with Jim over the years at Mercy and KCH hospitals. He was well liked by his patients, always had a smile, was never rushed in an exam. Both he and Dave took great care of my mom over the years as well. May God be with you in these hors of need.

  • To the McCann family. We are so sorry for your loss. This made us sad. He delivered our daughter in 1969 and was our family doctor for many years. Please accept our sympathy and condolences
