Dorothea F. Robinson, 93, of Mount Gilead died Tuesday morning, December 12, 2007 at the Morrow Manor.

She was born on March 14, 1914 in Knox County the daughter of the late Curtis and Melva (Fernbaugh) Fletcher.

Dorothea was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Shortly after graduation she married Erle T. Robinson on June 10, 1933 in Knox County. Together with their two sons they lived in the Green Valley area until moving to Mount Gilead in 1947. Dorothea and Erle were married for 62 years until his passing in 1996.

She was a 50 year member of the Harmony Chapel UMC, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also took part in the Yankees Street Ladies.

Dorothea was a very faithful woman, always there for her family. She will be remembered as very kind, “a good mother”. She was also very active with her role as grandmother.

When she was not taking care of her home and all the added responsibility, you could find her in her flower garden tending to her violets and cox cones. She also enjoyed embroidery, using her talents on pillows and blankets.

Dorothea will be missed by her two sons Vaughn (Donna) and Gerald (Mary Lou) Robinson both of Mount Gilead; five grandchildren Jeffery E. Robinson, Roseanne (Michael) Drake, Tony G. Robinson, Terry Robinson, and Tammy (Scott) Snyder; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sister Mildred Vannatta of Marietta; and her sister-in-law Wanda Robinson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Vicky Lynn Robinson.

Friends may call on the family on Thursday December 13, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead. Rev. Jeannie Winters and Pastor Marvin Gassman will conduct services there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
