Doris M. Borders, 91, of Galion passed away early Monday evening, June 9, 2014 surrounded by her family at Signature HealthCARE of Galion. She was born June 13, 1922 in Rossburg and was the daughter of Lester and Mollie (Hiestand) McEldowny. On November 3, 1951 she married Robert L. Borders and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1994. Doris is also preceded in death by daughters Anita Stiffler and Mollie Eusey; brother Babe Patrick McEldowny and a son-in-law Mark Stiffler. Doris never knew a stranger, and was always there to volunteer, whether it was writing letters to our troops, helping with funeral luncheons or as a Teacher’s aide with the Mt. Gilead school district. She was a 1940 graduate of Galion High School. She is survived by son-in-law William Eusey of Galion; grandchildren Mary Satterfield of Sunbury, William (Andrea) Eusey of Marengo, Rob Moody of Galion and Josh (Lindsey) Stiffler of Galion; great-grandchildren Austin, Dallas, Lee, Dylon, Abby, Alexis, Bronson, Rylie, Jadyne and Jordyn; five great great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Myers of Crestline. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion where services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10 am with Pastor Larry Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Memorial contributions may be made to Galion/Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail in care of the funeral home.   • I so sadden to hear of the loss of such a Wonderful lady. I knew her through the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary. She was always there to lend a hand & help with everything~!~!~ I will miss ya Doris~!~~
