Doris Eileen Hull

MANSFIELD: Doris Eileen Hull passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 in OhioHealth Hospital Mansfield surrounded by her family. She was 86.

She was born January 27, 1932 to parents Zenner & Dorothy (Fulton) Linn in Williamsport. Eileen graduated from Johnsville High School with the class of 1950.

On September 1, 1950, she married Richard “Dick” Hull and they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2007. Now they are together again.

Eileen worked for the telephone company for many years before retiring as a group chief operator in 1987.

She was a member of the Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society and McElroy Road Church of Christ. She was very involved with the church especially as a gifted pianist that could play any sheet of music that was put in from of her.

Eileen never knew a stranger. She was friendly and kind to everyone she met. In spare time, she took pleasure in scrapbooking and playing the piano. But above all, Eileen cherished her family. Eileen’s family will hold many memories, like their mom yodeling up the stairs to call everyone down for the day, close to their heart.

She is survived by children Lee (Debbie) Hull, Lynn Godsey, Leslie Hull, Lura Powers and Lawrence (Cathy) Hull; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; siblings Maxine (Bill) Hershner, Ray (Judy) Linn and Donald (Marcella) Linn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Kari Johnson.

The Hull family will receive friends Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 5 p.m. ~ 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home and will continue Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at McElroy Road Church of Christ (297 N McElroy Rd, Mansfield) from 11 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. where a funeral service honoring Eileen’s life will begin immediately at 1 p.m. Minister Dean Jackson will speak. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

  • I met Eileen through visiting my aunt at Mansfield Place. She always had a smile on her face, and greeted me with a “Well, hello there”. She had a sweet personality about her and I enjoyed seeing her scrapbooks. I will miss seeing her there, but am happy to know that she is in a better place and is with her Lord. Praying for all of you during this difficult time.

  • Through my teenage years Eileen was a second Mom to me. Dick and Eileen’s home was always open for us. Oh how she could play the piano! I can still recall that smile of hers! So many memories of the Hull family.
