LEXINGTON: Donna J. Fenner, age 88, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in The Ohio State University Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born April 18, 1923 in Shelby the daughter of Henry A. and Alma A. (Artz) Varchmin and was graduated from Shelby High School in 1941.

On October 26, 1960 she married Paul E. Fenner who preceded her in death in 2008. The couple made their home in Columbus, and moved to Lexington in 2004.

A homemaker, Donna enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading and playing euchre and other card games. She adored children, especially her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, spending time with them any given chance. More than an aunt, she mothered them as if they were her very own children and grandchildren.

An avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, she and Paul were season ticket holders, and loved tailgating on game day. Donna collected all things Buckeye for her “Buckeye Room”.

She will be remembered for her kindness, and graciousness.

Donna is survived by four sisters and two brothers-in-law Marie Russell of Columbus, Mary Wise of London, Emma and Eldon Pritchard of Mansfield, and Shirley and Darce Shasky of Lexington, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Eldo Varchmin.

Friends may call Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 2-4 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am in the funeral home. Russ Hawthorne will speak and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby.

In honor of Donna’s love for children memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation through the funeral home.
