Donald L. Norris, age 79 of Powell, known as the “Mailbox and Post Man” passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Emergency Room of Grady Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 19, 1932 in Cleveland the son of the late Joseph I. and Anna (Yogmin) Norris. A US Army veteran, he was originally from Mayfield Village and moved to the Powell area in 1993. A master craftsman, Don owned and operated Upfront Mailbox & Post. Meticulous in his craft, he was known for his quality work.
He prided himself on his home, landscaping, and yard. With a creative mind, he was always at work designing something unique and special. His outgoing friendly nature put everyone at ease and created long lasting friendships. Loyal and loving, he was generous in countless ways.
Don was happiest at work, with family or enjoying a good conversation.
He is survived by daughter Dawn Norris of Powell and son Anthony Norris of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife: Carol (Malik) in 2000 and a brother Joe.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be observed privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
