Donald E. Moore, Sr.

Donald E. Moore, Sr., 64, of 4243 Bloominggrove Rd., Mansfield, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at home after a courageous three year battle with cancer.
Born September 13, 1940 in Waynesburg, Penn., he was the son of Russell Moore, Sr. who survives, in Bucyrus and the late Bertha Tedrow Moore. He and his wife, Desi L. Dyer Moore, have been together 27 years and she survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979, V. F. W. Post 4329 and Moose Lodge 303 in Galion.
He was employed as a welder at the former Peabody-Galion and later McClain E-Z Pack. He retired in 2002.
Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Earl, Jr. and Teresa Moore and Randall and Laurie Moore of Galion; two grandchildren, Travis Dalton Moore and Kelsie Elizabeth Edwards; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Erlene Moore of Canton, Tom and Kathy Moore of Bucyrus, Gary and Vickie Moore of New Washington, Russell, Jr. and Jeanette Moore of Bucyrus; seven sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Frank Fox, Linda and Ron McLaughlin, Ruth and Floyd Reinhart, Loretta Gibson and Nancy and Woody Brown, all of Carey, Barbara and Gerald Gerstenberger of Oceola, and Martha and Arleigh Wiley of Waynesburg, Penn.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, with Elder Ron Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Galion/Crestline area veterans organizations.
