Don C. Bader

Don C. Bader, 74, of Forest Hills Blvd., Columbus, Ohio died Wednesday morning in the Friendship Village Healthcare Center.

He was born in Denmark, Ohio on April 18, 1921, the son of the late Francis and Charlotte Rouse Bader. He graduated from Edison High School in 1939 and received his B.S and M.S in Business Administration from Ohio State University.

He served for 25 years in the U.S. Air Force beginning as a pilot in WW II where he flew 25 missions over Germany and received the Purple Heart. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1983 while working as an operations research analysts at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton.

He had also owned/operated the Mt. Gilead Lumber Company from 1946-1951 and also worked for the Social Security Administration for several years as a financial advisor. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance and the Parametrics Analysis’ Society.

He is survived by his wife D. Leah Robinson Bader, whom he married on July 27, 1943; 1 son Don L. Bader of Columbus, OH; 3 daughters: Diana Dix of Columbus, OH, Debra Smith of Mount Gilead, OH, and Denise Yeagley of Orrville, OH; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 brother Lowell Bader of Edison, OH.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Leroy and Robert Bader.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead by Rev. Wayne King. Friends may call at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to funeral services. Burial will be in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.
