Diana M. Halderman Dickerson
September 14, 1969 ‒ June 08, 2008
Diana M. Halderman Dickerson, age 38 of Delaware, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Grant Medical Center, following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, on September 14, 1969, the daughter of Genny (David) Shaw of Delaware and John (Joyce) Halderman of Mount Gilead. Diana graduated from Delaware Hayes High School in the Class of 1987, and later received computer science and web design degrees from DeVry University.
On August 19, 1995, Diana married her loving husband of nearly thirteen years, David Dickerson. Together they enjoyed many fierce dart competitions whether they were competing against each other or throwing as a team and winning many trophies.
A lifelong resident of Delaware, Diana worked in technical support for Sarcom for seven years, and for the past three years at Cardinal Health in Dublin.
A “sports nut,” Diana was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan and she proudly rooted on her beloved Buffalo Bills, even if she was in a white out.
With a love for the outdoors, she enjoyed camping and she was a member of the Columbus Zoo, where she had a special fondness for horses.
The rock of the family, Diana could be counted on in any situation. Always delightful and loving, she cared deeply for everyone she met.
Including her parents and husband, Diana will be missed by her step-son, Jeremy (Krystol) Dickerson of Marysville; two brothers: John Halderman II of Delaware and Sgt. Justin Halderman; a sister, Kathy (Mike) Clayton of Plain City; Mother-in-law: Dick & Rabbit Dickerson of Delaware; great grandmother-in-law, Starling Andrews of Marion; step grandmother, Betty Shaw of Delaware; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Di was preceded in death by her Grandma Halderman.
Her family will greet friends on Thursday from 5 – 9 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Derek Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
