Delphin Roland DeLong

BUTLER: Delphin Roland DeLong, 95, formerly of North Liberty, died Wednesday morning February 27, 2002 in West View Manor, Wooster, following a long illness.

Delphin was born February 1, 1907 in Brown Township, Knox County to Roy and Ulma (Freed) DeLong, was graduated from Jelloway High School, and was a lifelong area resident.

A self employed farmer, Delphin loved farming and felt a closeness to the earth. He lived on the family farm for nearly ninety years, and was a member of the New Life Church of Christ in Bellville.

He is survived by two brothers Jacob DeLong of Ashland and Milford DeLong of Wooster; and eight nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Burgess DeLong and a sister Winona Lyme.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 1, 2002 at 11 am in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Steven Kistler will officiate. Burial will follow in North Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home during the hour prior to the funeral service.
