David William Fitzcharles, 80, of Delaware passed away Monday morning August 18, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 17, 1934 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Helen (Yashura) Fitzcharles.
David served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He served as plant manager of the Garber Company in Ashland, Ohio for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware and he enjoyed playing golf, especially with his wife Veronica.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons David Jr. (Nina) of Powell, Mark (Maria) of Columbus, Jeffrey (Tracy) of Twinsburg, OH, Ronald of Phoenix, Arizona, and Christopher Fitzcharles of Ashland, OH; four grandchildren Trey, Jayme, Sydney and Collin; brother Robert (Shirley) Fitzcharles of Port Charlotte, Florida; sister Arlene (Larry) Swartz of Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 49 years Veronica “Vicky” Fitzcharles on March 1, 2005 and a brother Clarence Fitzcharles.
The family will receive friends on Friday August 22nd from 1:00 pm until time of funeral services at 3:00 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street, Delaware with Rev. Fr. Michael Watson officiating. The St. Mary Bereavement Committee will then host a reception in the Snyder-Rodman Community Room immediately following the services. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at a later date.

  • MOM & Mark- I’m so sorry. I know you guys always tried to make as much time for him as you could & you guys did good. Thank you for bringing him with you guys to our cook outs, we enjoyed having him & will really miss him.

  • I worked with Dave for many years at Garber/Caraustar. He was a class act and well respected. Dave taught me many things that I still use to this day. I have always remembered him and cherish our memories.
