David W. Wolfe, Jr., 80, and wife Lillian L. Wolfe, 78, both of Galion passed away May 17, 2017 and May 15, 2017 respectively. David passed away Wednesday at the Arbors at Mifflin in Mansfield and Lillian passed away Monday at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

David was born August 9, 1936 in Havaco, West Virginia and was the son of David Sr. and Bessie M (Bates) Wolfe. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and United States Army for a total of 22 years obtaining the rank of SSG and after the service worked as a mechanic for some area dealerships and a pressman for Lifetouch and Shilling Graphics. David was a member of the NRA, enjoyed fishing, computers and helping neighbors with anything.

He is survived by four sisters Patricia, Ethel, Nadine and Claudine and several nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents and brother Leonard Wolfe.

Lillian was born January 2, 1939 in Steeles, West Virginia and was the daughter of Arvil L. and Gladys (Ward) Fuller.

Lillian is survived by four sisters Phyllis Fuller of Galion, Helen (Vernon) Edwards of Edison, Jeri Tiller of Richlands, Virginia and Carlyn (Bill) Straight of Mt. Vernon and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

David and Lillian were united in marriage on August 8, 1956. They are survived by two sons TSgt United States Air Force Ret. David III (Presilda) Wolfe of Bellevue, Nebraska and Brian Wolfe of Galion; a granddaughter Crystal Wolfe of Florida and great-grandson Benjamin Rahman Wolfe.

Private services will be held for the family at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to HomeCare Matters Hospice in care of the funeral home.

  • I was shocked to hear of David and Lillian’s passing. We lived next door to them on Richardson Ave. Both were wonderful people. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
