David L. Fisher, age 52, of Danville died Thursday June 19, 2003 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born January 10, 1951 in Mount Vernon and had spent most of his lifetime in Knox County. He served in the U S Army and was stationed in Vietnam from October of 1970 to October 1971 where he was awarded the Bronze Star. David was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the AMVETS.
Surviving are his mother and step father Joanne (Thompson) Smith and Floyd Smith of Howard; 3 brothers Louis J. Fisher and Rick (Sheila) Fisher all of Mount Vernon and Steven Smith of Howard; 4 sisters Carol (Joe) Gallion of Mount Vernon, Mary Fisher Weber and Jetty (Don) Price all of Howard and Tabitha Smith. David was the father of four sons and a daughter. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Alonzo Fisher and a brother Terry Fisher.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 PM. Burial with full military honors will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
