David E. Blair
April 06, 1963 ‒ March 23, 2008
Mount Gilead, Ohio
David E. Blair, 44, of Mount Gilead died unexpectedly Sunday March 23, 2008 at his home.
He was born on April 6, 1963 at the Morrow County Hospital the son of the late Wayne E. and Beverly Ann (Holloway) Blair.
David has been a resident of the community his entire life and was a graduate of Northmor High School.
On November 14, 2000 he married his best friend Donna M. McCurdy. They were together for 12 years before their 2000 marriage. Donna described him as the “most loving husband and man God could ever create in this world”.
He was employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation on their road crew until a disability forced his retirement in 1995. His duties included snow removal, road salting, and road repair.
David could not wait for the arrival of spring, when he could get out to the garden and plant his tomatoes. He also took great pride in the upkeep of his lawn, mowing it as much as he deemed necessary.
He also had a large collection of miniature die-cast cars.
David was a true family man and cherished every moment spent with them. His love for his grandchildren could not be matched.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna; children Chad, Jason (Nicole), and Mandy Gheen all of Marion, and Brandy (Cedric) Golston of Schenectady, New York; 7 grandchildren Dominique, Donte, Emily, Brooklyn, Dylan, Devin, and Dequawn; a brother Terry Blair of Ohio; and Aunts April (Gene), Nancy, and Marilyn all of Galion.
