David C. Homerick

David C. Homerick went to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 28, 2019 in Ohio Health Marion Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 77.

He was born March 20, 1941 in Mansfield to parents Charles W. &Velma (Weatherbie) Homerick. After he graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1960, he married Wilma J. Wiseman on December 14, 1969. The pair went on to have and raise three children.

David worked at Taylor Metal as a brake operator, where he worked for over 38 years until retiring in 2002.

In spare time, David enjoyed perch fishing at Lake Erie and camping at Riverbend in Marion. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan. But above all, David cherished spending time with his family and will be missed greatly by all who love him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Wilma J. Homerick; children Tina Simones, Kenneth (Belinda) Homerick, and Jeffrey Homerick; grandchildren Susan (Thomas) Jackson, Michael Hardin, Dustin Homerick, Courtney Homerick, Dalton Homerick and Aubrey Lewis; great grandchildren Maria and Katrina Jackson, and two on the way; siblings Dennis (Vicki) Homerick, Dean (Pam) Homerick, Joan (William) Bolinger; and Kathy (Donald) Gaumer; and his God mother Clara Zara.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandson Bobby Hardin; and great grandchild Andrea Jackson.

The Homerick family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m. Celebrant Dave Roberts and Chaplain Joan Bolinger will speak. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Contributions in David’s memory to Ohio Health Hospice may be made at the funeral home.
