Daniel M. Adkins, 51, of 5663 Monat Drive , Galion, OH 44833 died unexpectedly after a sudden illness Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in Woodland, Wash.

Born June 15, 1953 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Floyd Adkins and Ethel Ruth Hanks Adkins. He is survived by his wife Carla J. Damron Adkins whom he married January 9, 1993.

He was a graduate of Middletown High School and a member of Gospel Baptist Church. He received a Masters Degree in Music and Theology and was ordained a minister at Maple City Baptist Church in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.

He was an evangalist for 32 years and traveled, preached and sang at many different churches across the country. He wrote and recorded Southern gospel music in Nashville, Tenn. where he and his wife owned and operated Music City Gospel for seven years.

He is also survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Fonda and Tom Isaacs and Angie Adkins and a son, Daniel Adkins, all of Springfield, Ill.; two step children, Heather Martinez and her husband Luis, of Nashville, Tenn. and Matthew Enderle, of Galion; three grandchildren, Ethan Enderle, Anthony Martinez and Charity Adkins; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Billie Adkins of Dayton and Tom and Mary Lou Long of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patty and Dale Meek of Franklin and Judy Timpanelli of Bradenton, Fla..
He was preceded in death by one grandson.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, at Gospel Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Trammel officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
