Dale W. Lamb, 92, of Galion, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Center in Galion.
Born Nov. 9, 1917 in Galion, he was the son of the late Charles Lamb and Emma Senn Lamb. He was preceded in death on Jan. 9, 1978 by his wife, Mildred Dorner Lamb whom he married on May 25, 1940.
He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1937 and enjoyed camping, fishing and playing baseball with his grandchildren. Dale was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and was very active for many years in National Little League and Little Sox. He retired after 24 years with the former Ohio Overcoat Factory where he was in charge of shipping. He later worked at the former Herndon’s Sunoco until retiring at the age of 70.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Calvin Smith of Blythewood, S.C. and Marilyn and Dennis Elmore of Galion,; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Jenny Lamb of Crossville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Thelma Foust of Galion.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Crawford County Memory Gardens with Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
