Dale L. Wilson

Dale L. Wilson, age 81, of Bryant Road, Fredericktown, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 28, 2013.
He was born on September 21, 1931 in Knox County to the late Lloyd and Edna (Cochran) Wilson. Dale was a retired dairy farmer. He also retired from the Dana Corporation. After retirement, Dale worked at Ryan’s Steakhouse and most recently at Jake’s Steakhouse. He was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church where he was a Youth Leader and in 1961 he took the youth of the church to Washington D.C. Dale earned his FFA State Farmer Degree in 1950, was the Knox County Young Farmer of the Year in 1961 and while a member of the Grange, he and his wife were named the Knox County Couple of the Year. He was a 4-H advisor for over twenty two years and was a Veteran serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, of over sixty one years, Nora (Snow) Wilson; his daughter Denise (Greg) Burgess of Mount Vernon; his son Darwin (Alisha) Wilson of Centerburg; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler and Sierra Wilson, Beau and Haylee Burgess; and his brother James (Lenora) Wilson of Fredericktown.
Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother Carroll Wilson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 beginning at 11 AM at the Green Valley Cemetery with Rev. Carolyn Carman officiating.
