BELLVILLE: Clyde Leroy Mowry, 82, of Bellville died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at home following an extended illness.

Now absent from the body, Clyde is rejoicing with the Lord in his eternal home.

Clyde was born on November 9, 1925 in Bellville to Arthur and Bertha (Clever) Mowry. He was united in marriage to Faithe (Berry) Mowry on April 30, 1950.

Clyde lived in Bellville for most of his life and was a John Deere dealer with his brother Kenneth for 40 years. Active in the community and school system, Clyde was a Clear Fork supporter running the concession stand at the football and basketball games for numerous years. He was also a member of the Bellville Chamber of Commerce and Gideon’s International.

You could say that Clyde was a John Deere enthusiast. From tractors to blankets to miniature collectables he simply collected anything and everything John Deere.

He was an active member of Pleasant Grove Community Church having his hand on various programs. He served as elder, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, board chairman, as well as singing.

Clyde loved sports, traveling, and watching his grandsons play ball.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Faithe Mowry, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Earlene Mowry of Radnor, daughter Colleen of Mansfield; grandchildren Nathan and Amanda Mowry of Waldo and Matthew Mowry of Radnor; brother Kenneth Mowry of Bellville; sister-in-law Vivian Armstrong of Lexington and a sister-in-law and her husband Elaine and Marion Bowman of Bellville, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Melvin, Carl, and Chet Mowry and sisters Mildred Shaffer and Florence Yarger.

The Mowry family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Mansfield Kidney Dialysis Center for their care and compassion toward the family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 26, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in the Pleasant Grove Community Church. Graveside services will be held at Bellville Cemetery.
