Clark Terry Johnson
October 06, 1936 ‒ September 20, 2009
MANSFIELD: Years ago Terry Johnson purchased an old used 1933 pickup. After countless hours and even years of working on and fixing his truck, he was proud to show his 1933 Ford pickup hotrod. Terry loved cruising across the country in his roadster. All he needed was his loving wife, Elizabeth, at his side and the loud roar of his engine rumbling in the background.
Clark Terry Johnson, 72, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday September 20, 2009 in his home following an extended illness.
He was born on October 6, 1936 in Mount Holly, New Jersey to Howard and Fannie (Davis) Johnson and graduated from Fairview High School in 1955.
Terry attended The Ohio State University and later graduated from Sinclair College.
An Army veteran, Terry served from 1959 to 1965.
He worked as supervisor for the General Motors Moriane Plant in Dayton for 15 years manufacturing diesel engines. He retired in 1992.
In 2001 Terry moved to the Mansfield area where he was a member of Caesarea Baptist Church.
In his spare time you could find Terry fishing. Either along shore or in a boat, he loved to be by the water. Filling his time with woodworking projects and model trains, Terry loved keeping busy. However, his main focus and passion was his hotrod.
He was a member of Street Rod Association.
Terry will be remembered for his contagious smile and love of family.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Murray) Johnson of Mansfield, whom he married on June 27, 1981; son Curt Johnson of Florida; daughter Karen (Chris) Christian of Brookville; step daughter Peggy (Jeff) Rumbarger of Butler, step sons Steve Pfahler and Rick (Peggy) Pfahler both of Mansfield; grandchildren Marina Johnson, Monica and Holly Christian, Lonnie King, Richard Geiger, Tracey Pfahler, Keith Pfahler, and Lisa Pfahler; five great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Bruce (Sally) Johnson and sister Joyce Whitman both of Dayton.
