Clara M. Welsh, age 63, of Delaware, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at her residence, following a sudden illness. Born on August 13, 1944 in Mason County, West Virginia, Mrs. Welsh had lived in Delaware for most all of her life. She had worked as a manager in both of the former Isaly’s and former Lawson’s stores in Delaware, for many years. She was a member of the East Side Mission Church in Delaware. She enjoyed working with crafts, ceramics and also quilting. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family. She is survived by her daughter- Vicky (Kenneth D.) Corl of Delaware; her son- Donald (fiance- Clara L. Swisher) Welsh of Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers- Wayne (Jayne) Coleman, David (Barbara) Coleman and Clarence (Nell) Coleman, all of Delaware; 2 sisters- Rachel (boyfriend- Chuck Bennett) Curren of Delaware and Esther (Gino) Adams of Kilborne; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband- Lewis F. Welsh in 2004; 1 sister- Emma Jean Coleman; 1 brother- Eugene Coleman; and by her parents- Vernon D. and Goldie Mae (Fielder) Coleman. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and then again on Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 West William, Delaware, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Donnie Akers and the Rev. Dorsal Messick, pastors of the East Side Mission Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware.
