Clara “Grandma” Hatten
July 11, 1945 ‒ March 17, 2004
Clara “Grandma” Hatten, age 58, of Cardington and formerly of Marengo, died Wednesday evening, March 17, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born in Delaware, Ohio on July 11, 1945 to the late Hubert and Grace (Hinderlong) Blackledge. She resided in Ashley and Marengo before moving to Cardington four years ago. She attended the Alum Creek Friends Church and was a homemaker. She will be remembered for her love of driving in and watching Demolition Derbies, her pets, and a collection of figurine owls.
She is survived by two Sons; David “Phil” and Daniel Hatten both of Cardington, two Daughters; Clara (Bill) Calendine of Columbus, and Barbara (Steve) Pate of Milford Center, 6 Grandchildren, 3 Step-grandchildren, 1 Great-grandchild, and a Sister; Mildred Kinnison of Ashley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles and Howard Blackledge.
Friends may call Friday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 229, Marengo, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James Brantingham officiating. Burial will follow at the Alum Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
