Charles E. Chapman, Sr.

Charles E. Chapman, Sr., 65, of 5367 County Road 35, Galion, died Friday, Mar. 9, 2007 at Morrow County Hospital in Mt. Gilead, after a short illness.
Born June 30, 1941 in Meigs County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Chapman. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean Swackhammer Chapman, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1963.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1959 to 1962 and in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1965. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union and the AFL-CIO Local 5154. He was a machinist with Komatsu Dresser in Galion. He also owned Chuck’s Upholstery. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping and working on cars. He was a strong family man whom dearly loved his wife and children. He enjoyed working on computers and spending time on E-bay.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. Jr. and Kristy J. Chapman of Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; three daughters, Teresa Lynn Chapman of Hilliard, Pamela Kay Chapman of Galion and Bonnie Jean Chapman of Columbus; three grandchildren, Charles A., Steven G. and James A. Chapman; one brother, John Chapman of Chillicothe and one sister, Mary Bell of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Chapman and Jean Adams and one brother, Clarence Chapman.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 11, 2007 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Mar. 12, with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and Galion/Crestline area veterans organizations.
