Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE: Charles Clark “Chuck” Adams passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 in his home.  He was 79.

He was born August 11, 1939 in Steubenville to parents Roger Adams, Sr. & Ethel B. (Sturgeon) Adams.

Chuck worked as a truck driver for many years, mostly long hauls, seeing America’s countryside.

Chuck’s real passion was racing stock cars, beginning in the mid 1960’s and later raced sprint cars.  Taking either the checkered flag or black flag in nearly every race on the Ohio circuit, Chuck was one of the best known racers during the 1960’s and still holds a record at the Wayne County Speedway.

A long-time Bellville resident, he loved target shooting and enjoyed his role reloading for other shooters.  He was a volunteer for the Jefferson Township-Bellville Fire Department and spent countless hours working in his vegetable garden.  Chuck will be remembered for his orneriness and confident spirit.

He is survived by Judy Adams, daughters Nancy and Bob Martin, and Kelli King all of Bellville; 3 grandchildren Chris and Megan Martin of Racine, WI, Adam and Bethany Smith of Bellville, and Michael and Randi Ernsberger of Clyde; 6 great grandchildren Gage, Boston, Gabrielle, Kinlee, Annabelle and Theodore.

The Adams family will receive friends Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 10 am  to 11 am the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where the service will follow at 11 am.  Pastor Dave Bates will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
